I’ve never been one to argue that the amount of money spent on quality, whole foods shouldn’t matter. While some foodies make light of keeping grocery bills down, I don’t. I want to feed my family healthy, whole, real food, but I have to keep our frugal budget in mind while doing so.
I’m not the only one, either. In fact, I recently teamed up with four other budget-conscious foodies to write an ebook called The Frugal Secrets of Real Foodies, and we are launching it today. I’m so excited to tell you about what’s inside and share with you the specials we have for this week, too!
The Frugal Secrets
In The Frugal Secrets of Real Foodies, we first share our stories, telling you how we came to cook real food on a frugal budget. Chances are, you’ll be able to relate to one of us!
Next come the secrets, and boy are we really dishing them out! Inside The Frugal Secrets of Real Foodies, you’ll find helpful information on topics like
- when to buy organic
- how gardening and farmers markets can benefit your budget
- buying and cooking in bulk
- dealing with allergies and food sensitivities while staying frugal
- where to find thrifty whole foods
- not letting food waste eat up your grocery budget
- and more!
All of these tips are shared with one goal: to equip you to eat better food with your family while spending less.
Of course no foodie book would be complete without recipes! We compiled 40 real food recipes that will nourish your body and your health without draining your wallet.
In The Frugal Secrets of Real Foodies, you’ll find recipes for
- breakfast, like a Bright Autumn Smoothie and Oatmeal Breakfast Bars
- lunch, like a Cheeseburger Potato Soup and Simple Mayo-Less Tuna Salad
- dinner, like Crockpot Brisket and Soaked Whole Wheat Pizza
- breads and sides, like Roasted Brussels Sprouts and Gluten Free Tortillas
- drinks and desserts, like a Sourdough Pumpkin Cake with Honey Cream Cheese Frosting and Strawberry Lemonade
About the Authors
The five of us are living in different parts of the country (and one just came back to the States after living for years in Mexico!) and have different family sizes, but we all share the same goal of frugality when it comes to cooking. Besides myself, you’ll also hear from
- Kate of Modern Alternative Mama
- Shannon of Simply Smiles
- Katie Mae of Nourishing Simplicity
- Sarah of Simple Life, Abundant Life
